Minibio:

Granville Pillar, PhD, a native of Northern Ireland, lived in South Africa, Germany and Australia prior to moving to Hungary, which he now calls home. He taught for nine years at the University of Nyíregyháza, Hungary, where he held the position of English lector. He taught a wide spectrum of courses in the fields of linguistics, language pedagogy, intercultural studies, colonial civilisation, media studies and oral skills development. Having recently retired from his position, he is now free to pursue itinerant teaching opportunities in Hungary and neighbouring countries. His academic research interests are in the fields of bilingual pedagogy, technology in second language pedagogy, and music and song in teaching English as a foreign language. He is also an ordained Reformed Church minister, and is actively involved in church ministry through singing, bilingual preaching, and writing and conducting English Bible study courses. He holds degrees in Arts, Education, Electrical Engineering and Theology.
